sunday sunday sunday

i got up and out today! yay meesh.

i went to this museum:

http://www.beyeler.com/fondation/e/html_01start/01_sta__main.php

i am not sure what the big freaking deal was about the place other than the guy who designed it, an italian named renzo piano.....it was a really cool building....the art though was meh....meaning, lots of rothko (whom i cannot stand) but there was a great polynesian and african art....some sculptures so old...and in wood!

very cool. no photos allowed of course and there was plenty of museum staff to enforce this and i should hope so at 23 francs to get in the freaking place.

there was a great picasso, the green lady or something like this and they didn't have a post card of it and i can't find it online, yet! i love green the color and this was pretty neat....i am not a super fan of his but there are a few things he's done that i really have enjoyed seeing up close.

the museum was near the end of the tram six line on BVB....it was in this cool little town but as with most places around here, the only thing open was this museum!

i went home after this and cleaned my room and packed and re organized for the 'big move' next week and realized i didn't purchase another grouping of slats for my bed!

eeek!

then i got to go to the BIS private club for dinner with tamara and the family. the kids are insane when the parents are around. if it was just me man they would have behaved like little gentlemen! such is life and i am still not sure how much i should intervene if i am out with them all...

tomorrow morning i get to take them both to their play group and i get two hours or so off which is nice. i will go grocery shopping.

oh the fun!

so hopefully my package makes it that brian sent today, that my furniture comes when it's supposed to provided the deposit i made last week went through and i get the keys from herr dunn!

oh and i got my first letter addressed to 'frau marcoccia'

this last photo...was at the tram stop of the museum....yeah, it says 'anus' and when i put this word into my sherlock translator it comes up as well, anus. i didn't really want to ask anyone so....yeah.

  2. I never was a big fan of Picasso either, but if you ever get to Barcelona - there is a great Picasso museum. It isn't big, but it goes through his life chronologically and starts with drawings he did when he was a kid. Plus, there is all the cool Gaudi stuff to see in Barcelona which I'm sure you would love. Just don't go in the summer - very hot and very little air conditioning. Spring or fall is what I would recommend. Take care and have a good week. We are also working on a package for you (to include your rain boots which we recently discovered). E-mail me your address when you get a chance.

of course one day i want to get to paris and rome....and everywhere...essentially i think i will do these cities when i have a chunk of time off....i did get a 1/2 price fare card for all of switzerland so there is much to be done just in this tiny country!
