so yesterday i left around 11 or so and took the train to Illingen germany to meet a friend. i love trains. especially the fast ones!
still it took about two and a half hours from basel to get there. not back though.
hung out in this wacky house and then went to this other very very small town i don't remember the name of to have this special dinner...a place where people all kind of sit together and eat and talk.
there are a ton of vinyards here in this region due to the climate so i had some of the best white wine i have had in a while. just the house wine but jesus H it was really good.
i had a hard time sleeping which i usually do in a new place.....i ended up with my headphones on and i suppose getting enough sleep.
i certainly was sleepy all day and kind of quiet and crampy.
i don't mean to be crampy but well it happens to the women folk, not much i can do but take my ibuprofen and grin and bear it.
went to Karlsruhe and should have stopped in the town where herman hesse was born but we didn't do this.

there was more open here than in basel on a sunday that's for sure! cool old city.
next time cause he is probably one of my favorite all time authors!!
took the train home and took a shower.
the dinner last night was so so good. i am not sure but i like this flat meat with sauce and this pasta and pomme frittes!
tomorrow is Fasnacht and while i kind of want to get up very early i have a feeling i will not do this. i have a long day as it is beginning my job for realz!
so this festival lasts for three days and it can be seen in daylight too so i am going to wuss out and not go to the 4 AM bit.
for the most part it was a very nice relaxing weekend.....a good start to my first week of work.
i have an apartment to look at tomorrow but fear i won't ever get a place to live ever.....
someone mentioned to me once that it was harder to find flats in europe than it was in the US so i am starting to believe this!
it's not as if i can't find open apartments it's just that i don't have all my 'papers' yet and i am american. tamara says that it is because i am american that the swiss are weary of renting to me but i have this contract and my work visa, like what the hell more do i need, a vial of my blood?
either way i am enjoying yet another dinner of bread and shit.
they went out to dinner so i am enjoying the quiet.
