hurray for me, i have a signed lease

oh this is the last thing to do while getting settled in switz

i got my lease signed today and tomorrow i go to my new bank, called KantonalBank, and have them wire the deposit!

i couldn't afford to live in DC alone, well i could but i think paying 1100 bucks for a tiny room is outrageous....

here it's 770 francs including everything but electric and phone (i will see about just getting wireless....)

i will not get a television. here one has to pay taxes to have one (weird eh) also i would have to pay a monthly fee for cable since there aren't really any 'public' stations (besides to get english stations i would have to have cable anyhow)

the internet is enough....so i am making a list of dvd's that i want!

mostly i am learning german (not very well mind you)
reading....

sometimes i really miss home and these things really help me!

today is my grandmother's birthday. she's almost 80 and still works at the hospital and drives around....she comes up to maybe my shoulders and she is one of the only family members (besides a few cousins) that has always supported me and the life i have chosen to live and i love her so much and when she dies it will be like my mother died.....

so happy bday grammie!
