the opening of my swiss account was well, not that exciting...

...but i did get to use the toilet which was in the basement near the vaults of all the nazi gold.

ha!

no really.

i went to my first appointment at 930 in the morning. he said i needed my work visa and the swiss ID cause i am a US citizen.

so he said something about going to the central Kantonal Bank cause there i wouldn't have to make an appointment.

so i figured what the hell, me and wolfie got our coffee and muffin and then i walked over to the main branch and said 'what do i really need to open an account here?'

some nice fellow did this for me with just my passport. i think the jerk at the first bank didn't want to help me.

so hurray. i have an account which has no money in it yet.

the oddest part is that for the online banking, i will get a secret code card in the mail with my 'mastercard ATM' for they do not use the visa here.....and the secret code card will have 100 numbers on it, numbered as you might guess, from 1 to 100.

each and every time i want to log into my bank account on line, it will ask for say the number after 65. so yeah, talk about extra secure!!

so it was very cut and dry, just like opening an account here.

if i keep 1000 francs in it at all times the account is free.

if it goes under, it is five francs a month. i think this is fair.

but i have to pay 20 francs for the master card ATM.

fine.

the kids are loons but the sun is out so after naps maybe i will go to the river without the stroller and let them run.

whoop!
