sexual violence and perversion

i went to a film festival in neuchatel last night and saw the new lars von trier movie called 'antichrist'

before the movie i had read a bit about the plot and thought well, this will be a movie about loss and redemption of sorts based on the idea that the couple loses their child and they go to 'heal'.

i won't give away much.
i can't.

what i can say is that lars von trier is a genius, except for that god awful movie he did with nicole kidman (i hated that movie).

the movie has two actors.....it isn't for the faint of heart, probably not for people who are in any way religious.....but i think if one has an open mind to art.....to the idea of how much pain there is in the world and how it manifests itself....i have not been this moved in a long time by a myth.

there are images i still cannot get out of my head....i cannot stop relating to the pain....the human condition....whether we like it or not, we all feel pain to varying degrees.

i am not sure what else to say. it comes out in the US on the 26th of july. i am guessing that in some theaters they will show the uncut version (i hope) and in others probably they will show the cut version which i doubt will have the same effect.
