it was a bigger city but i think after being in budapest i thought i would see more old stuff....there are old things...churches and the like....but the whole city was aced in the war so it's all newish and modern looking.

much like frankfurt from what i have seen there

but fribourg seems a bit better off....as does a lot of the black forest and the smaller towns.

either way it was pretty cool and went to the fancy hotel and got upgraded to a suite so it had a separate living room area and two giant comfy beds...

ate dinner at the the rathaus terrace....standard sausagey goodness. mine was veal.
also the potato soup-divine.

walked around and played with the fancy camera which is a new WANT in my world.

played with all the stuff like ISO and Fstops and waving it in the dark at lights....just having a good old time.

today was dachau.

most of the day was spent there....feeling kind of tiny, a little angry....a bit weirded out and intense. had a nice long train ride home....

i have snippets of things i wrote down about it.

it's one thing to study it and discuss it but to go there?
not sure.

i felt like i was taking too many pictures...but the clouds were so pretty....it was a gorgeous day but the sun beating on me also reminded me that prisoners had to stand in that yard for as long as they were told to.....punishment.

on the other hand, realistically, it's just history. something that happened that no one can go back and change but something people should be able to learn from.

simple. history. done.
