hola from krakow!
i had an awesome bday!
got up and had the fancy free breakfast from the hotel in warsaw then we headed to the train station and took the three hour ride to krakow. now i understand why people said that warsaw was more gritty. krakow is amazingly beautiful.
went to schindler's factory and walked the route of kings.
really enjoyed the day and went to eat at this underground restaurant run by monks. very cool.
i am very sleepy.
i just had some chocolate cake and a glass of wine.
in the morning getting up very early as our tour to auschwitz starts at 915 AM
we do that birkenau and the salt mines.
tuesday morning we get up and take some 'crazy guide' communist tour of krakow...proper eastern european style in a trebant.....nowa huta, a gift to krakow from uncle joe!
got to use the fancier camera today...street art pretty good in warsaw and semi good here.
it's been a really good holiday so far...enjoying all the new things.
the only thing that sucks is that my bank won't allow me to use my bank card...i can't even take zloties out of any bank o mat machine. hopefully i can call the bank at some point....some machines let me take out 50 zloties....one place let me charge 12 zloties for water and snacks but then at the restaurant i tried to pay 66 zloties and it was declined. i am glad i have some euro and am hoping when in germany my card will work again.

Hope you had a wonderful birthday! We spent our first weekend all summer outside of the city on a farm near Philly, and it was so relaxing.
