i would so do this

so i was talking about my last name and if i ever had a kid i would want it to have my last name even if i was married. so if i ever married i would keep my own last name however, i know many couples who have their own last names but the kids always get the fathers surname.

but after reading a post on my english expat website i am even more convinced that if i had a child i would want it to have both last names....so according to the US laws, of course, each state makes its own rules as to giving the child a hyphenated name.

the post was about a baby born in schweiz to a US/German couple. german law says no way can you do this and swiss law says the same and can only be over ridden by another law in whatever country the parents are from.

i dunno. thought it was interesting.

i like my last name. never want to lose it. the reason i would want my child to have my last name is because my brother cannot have children and no one would be able to carry the name in my family....just sayin. doubt i'll be having any offspring but still.
