budapest

i had a freaking lovely time in budapest.

what a beautiful city i loved the peeling paint, old signage....amazing weird street arts...stencils and lamp posts.

the train rides were fun....more exciting on the way back i think because the dining car was open so was able to get out of the cabin for a bit...thankfully realizing in vienna that they were unhitching the train to send us off to zurich and the other end to somewhere else.

got yelled at in salzburg by the zoll for smoking where i wasn't supposed to be i guess...me in my polka dot jammies half awake....he was yelling something about me giving him 40 euros but i kept telling him i had no euro...good times.

went to the museum of terror which was really interesting especially the propaganda room.

also the over the top signage there....terror in giant letters hanging over the side of the building.

went to the top of st. stephens but didn't get to see the glowing hand because there was a wedding inside!

had some delightful foods....stews and goulash....it's just a beautiful city and i am thankful that i got to see it. oddly i never rode the budapest underground only because i would rather have walked down all the side streets and like to see the city that way instead.

got back to zurich at 645 this morning...it's nice and cool here...was sweltering in budapest.

next weekend i will be going to munich to do the dachau tour. then the week after going to the poland for the auschwitz tour (which come to find out is a private tour taken in a car instead of a bus...odd but interesting...)

being in budapest makes me anticipate seeing berlin...i am really now looking forward to that....

my brains are a bit sleepy and scattered and will post a bit more later. uploading some photos to flicker and probably to the facebook. i think the flickers ones are going to be too big....i am not sure still on all this sizing for different sites.

back to reality of work tomorrow...
