paging dr henn!
i can agree that a flu that is easily spread between humans could be cause for concern, sure but seriously....can it spread this quickly?
what if it gets completely out of hand....the EU, asia and russia are already talking about quarantines of incoming travelers.
i believe lufthansa has suspended flights headed to mexico....
what if i can't get into america in october??
i will be very sad.

I doubt you will have a problem coming back to the U.S. in October. But the flu does spread fast - the incubation appears to be 2 days and people are contagious starting the day before they become ill.
ReplyDeleteRead The Great Influenza: The story of the deadliest pandemic in history by John M. Barry. It is about the 1918 flu pandemic and it gives you an idea about what a pandemic can be like. A very interesting read - even if you aren't an infectious disease geek.
thanks dr henn!
ReplyDeletei will go seek this book at the english bookstore!
Also check out "The Plague" by Albert Camus.
